I first set foot in Colombia in 2000 and then having escaped Wall Street in 2005 settled here for the long term leaving the financial sector behind - or so I thought. I eventually found myself reeled back in and a key component in the opening of the local capital markets to foreign investors. It has been quite the adventure with the usual high and low lights en route but the country continues to fascinate. By now I thought Colombia would be further down the road than it is, that said it has been a decade or so of incredible achievements in many respects.
